1965 Gibson Firebird III Non-Reverse – Sunburst
We present an original 1965 Gibson Firebird III Non-Reverse in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This Gibson Firebird is all original and 100% complete, except for a brand-new handcrafted nylon nut. Otherwise, no breaks or repairs – just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1965. The Gibson Firebird III Non-Reverse, equipped with three P-90 pickups, was Gibson’s answer to the Stratocaster with tremolo. The body features lightweight, one-piece mahogany with a standard glued-in neck. Strong one-piece mahogany neck with a beautifully dark rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. The vibrato tailpiece functions perfectly with no issues.
The P-90 pickups are well-balanced and deliver a dynamic, nuanced tone with the characteristic midrange fullness and punch unique to this combination. The original tuners are intact and turn smoothly. The gold reflector knobs are in perfect working condition with no issues. The serial number is clean and clearly visible on the back of the headstock. Overall, this is an incredible vintage guitar — an exceptional historical piece and a top-tier collector’s item and player.
The pickups and all electronics remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. Everything is original and correct.
Comes with its original hardshell case featuring a black exterior and plush yellow interior. The original latches and handle are intact. Even the matching number hang tag is included, along with some old Gibson strings.
