1966 Fender Princeton Reverb Amp AA764 – Blackface
We present an original 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb Amp AA764 – Blackface. Made in Fullerton, California.
The Blackface Fender Princeton Reverb is one of the crown jewels of mid-’60s combo amps. This classic amp added a tube-driven reverb circuit to the popular Princeton student combo and has been among the most widely used recording amps since its introduction in 1964.
The original Jensen speaker is in perfect and healthy condition. All transformers are factory original. New Belton tube retainers have been installed, and the circuit itself is perfect — serviced with some new caps, tubes, and resistors to ensure optimal performance. A newer reverb spring is installed. The amp is definitely in the excellent condition category in terms of cosmetics.
The front plate has some super cool handwritten letters, but otherwise still sports its original factory shine with very little patina. The grill cloth is exceptionally clean, and the tolex is also in exceptionally fine condition with no significant wear or tear. All channels work and sound incredible.
The original tube chart is also present and very clean, with crisp corners and a hand-inked serial number.
To keep it as original as possible, you’ll need a step-down transformer. We have these in stock and they can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
