1968 Fender Coronado II – Antiqua
We present an all original 1968 Fender Coronado II in its original Antiqua finish with matching headstock. Made in Fullerton, California.
Condition
It’s definitely not everyday that we come across an Antiqua Coronado II guitar with matching headstock. Especially not with this amazing and breathtaking birds-eye maple neck. We have never seen a neck this unique on vintage Fender – making this a lot rarer than a normal Antiqua Coronado II.
Overall, the guitar itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks or any repairs. The guitar has minor cosmetic wear on the body. There are two dark spots on each side of the bridge, because there was once a floating wooden bridge installed instead of the original one. There are NO extra holes, modifications or alterations of any kind on the guitar because of this, only the two dark marks indicating that a different bridge was once fitted. The guitar is now equipped with its original, correct chrome bridge.
Featuring gorgeous finish checking around the body. Featuring a bound maple hollow-body with bound f-holes. The maple neck is straight with some lovely play-wear and with a beautiful bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. The original frets and nut have plenty of life left.
Originality
This stunning ’68 Fender Coronado II is all original throughout – just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1968. Does not come with a tremolo arm. The 2x original DeArmond single coil pickups are well-balanced and sounds lovely. The 6x original Fender tuners turns smoothly with the original pearl buttons. The original pickguard and knobs are all intact.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Victoria Luggage hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
