1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp AB763 – Blackface
We present a wonderful 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp AB763 – Blackface. Made in Fullerton, California.
History
This is one of the last Blackface Deluxe Reverb Amps shipped out in 1968. The tube chart indicates April 1967, but the untouched original power transformer code points to the 2nd week of 1968. This confirms that the amp was ultimately assembled in early 1968.
Condition
Cosmetically, this awesome Blackface Deluxe Reverb Amp is incredibly clean. It has been serviced with new capacitors and resistors, so it runs perfectly. The black Tolex is overall exceptionally clean, with only a few small nicks and dings. The chrome faceplate is also clean, with all the writing clearly visible and barely faded. The grill cloth is in stunning condition, with only a few worn spots but overall very clean. The original knobs are all intact, in good condition, and turn smoothly. The amp is fully functional and sounds incredibly good.
Originality
The original and legendary AB763 circuit has been serviced with new capacitors and resistors for optimal performance but is otherwise original. It features the original 12″ Fender speaker, and all transformers are original to the amp. It comes with the original Fender leather cover.
To keep it as original as possible, you’ll need a step-down transformer. We have these in stock and they can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
