Description & Specifications

1971 Martin D-41 – Natural

We present an all original 1971 C.F. Martin D-41 in its original Natural finish. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

Crafted with stunning rosewood back and sides and a silky spruce top, this guitar features a mahogany neck that delivers a punchy attack and a remarkably strong, resonant voice. The rosewood peghead overlay showcases the C.F. MARTIN inlaid in bold, stylized lettering. An ebony fingerboard is adorned with hexagonal abalone inlays, while the top is outlined with abalone purfling along the edge, soundhole rosette, and fingerboard extension.

Additional premium details include a wooden marquetry back strip, cream heel cap and end wedge, and an ebony bridge with white bridge pins featuring abalone dots. Equipped with nickel “patent pending” Grover Rotomatic tuners, diamond volute behind the nut, and a bone nut and saddle. The original black pickguard lies flat and true.

Overall, this vintage Martin shows minimal wear — only a few minor nicks and dings. It is in stunning, near-mint condition, and impressively lightweight. In a perfect world, every Martin from the 1970s would be built and sound just like this one.

Comes complete with its original Martin hardshell case — all latches and handle in perfect working condition.
