Sold Vintage Gibson Guitars

We are proud to present our sold gallery of vintage Gibson guitars – a curated collection of some of the rarest and most iconic instruments ever made.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of handling exceptional examples of original Les Paul Standards from 1959 and 1960 – the legendary “Bursts” – along with early 1950s Goldtops, beautifully aged Les Paul Customs, and unique custom color finishes rarely seen today.

Among the rarest guitars we’ve sold is the 1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom “Mickey Baker” model – a highly limited and historically significant version produced by Gibson in very small numbers in 1957.

Our sold collection also includes iconic ES-335s, SGs, Firebirds, and hard-to-find Korina Flying V and Explorers. Some guitars come with full provenance from their original owners, while others show the honest wear of decades of music-making.

Every piece offers a unique window into Gibson’s craftsmanship and design evolution from the 1950s through the 1970s.

At Guitar Hunter, we focus exclusively on originality and authenticity. With hundreds of vintage Gibson guitars through our hands, we’ve built an expertise that can’t be bought online.

Every detail – from finish and frets to plastics and pots – tells a story and adds to our deep understanding of these historic instruments.

Whether you’re a collector, musician, or enthusiast, we hope this gallery inspires you and deepens your appreciation for vintage Gibson guitars.

And if you have a truly original piece you think we might be interested in, don’t hesitate to get in touch…

Original 1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom “Black Beauty” – 2 Pickups with Factory Bigsby. An exceptionally rare piece of Gibson history. This original 1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom, famously known as the “Black Beauty,” features the uncommon two-pickup configuration with a factory-installed Bigsby vibrato.

The standard line for Les Paul Customs from this era were produced with three pickups, making this version an extraordinary find and very sought after. Very few were made with two pickups. We are proud to have had this remarkable guitar through Guitar Hunter and even prouder to have found it.
