1920 Martin 0-18
We present an original 1920 C. F. Martin 0-18 in Natural finish with slotted peghead. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
A workhorse in nice shape for its age and what you can expect for a near 100 years old guitar. This 12-fret parlor is so amazing and sounds incredible good and the quality level is very high. Beautiful age-darkened Spruce top, mahogany“V” neck profile, and mahogany back and sides.
The guitar has the original tuners, original rosewood fingerboard and bar stock frets, and original bridge that was lowered (probably before the neck was reset). Through the years the guitar has got 5 top cracks and some few on the back and sides. All repair work done by a professional Luthier.
There is installed a Headway pickupsystem in the guitar so it’s ready to hit the road. Currently strung with new d’addario silk and steel (I recommend only these strings on this guitar)
If you want a great sounding finger-style guitar of all solid woods and quality workmanship, this guitar could be the one.
The History of this Martin model!
It was Built in Martin’s Nazareth, PA workshop, the 0-18 was smaller than the 00-18 and the 000-18, but larger than earlier parlor-style guitars. Like other 18 series Martins, the 0-18 is defined by a Mahogany body (starting in 1917), Spruce top, and minimimal cosmetic flourishes. Also like many classic Martins, the design of the 0-18 changed little from the World War II era until production ended in the mid-’90s. Examples from prior to the mid-’30s have a somewhat different body shape than later guitars.
