1959 Fender Harvard Amp Tweed 5F10 – Narrow Panel
We present an original 1959 Fender Harvard amplifier Tweed 5F10 – Narrow Panel. Made in Fullerton, California.
This rare 1959 Fender Harvard is a unique model, positioned just below the Deluxe in terms of output, featuring two 6V6 power tubes, a substantially sized cabinet, and a single Jensen P10R alnico 10″ speaker. The Fender Harvard is also notable for being the only Tweed-era Fender amp model that did not transition into the subsequent Brownface and Blackface series. The amplifier delivers sweet tube saturation and the extremely dynamic, harmonically rich tones that are a hallmark of narrow panel Tweed Fender amps.
Outfitted with simple volume and tone controls, it’s easy to dial in everything from glassy cleans to rich tube overdrive with a simple twist of a knob. The larger cabinet size — noticeably bigger than the Champ and Princeton — adds low-end fullness to the tone, with excellent note bloom and a richness that’s especially pronounced when played with a humbucker-equipped guitar.
The 5F10 circuit is clean and has been serviced with some new capacitors and resistors to ensure reliable performance. It retains the original transformers (Triad power transformer and Schumacher output). The faceplate is extremely clean, with shiny chrome and all original white silkscreened lettering intact. The original Jensen P10R 10″ speaker functions perfectly and sounds fantastic. The original lacquered Tweed covering is intact and lightly ambered. A new 3-prong power cord has been installed.
A great example overall, this amp shows only a few moderate scuffs and minor wear on the corners and along the edges of the Tweed covering.
