1961 Martin D-21 – Natural
We present an original 1961 C.F. Martin D-21 in its original Natural finish. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
This vintage Martin D-21 from 1961 is in exceptionally well-preserved, original condition. The solid spruce top reveals both care and history — clearly played, yet remarkably maintained. The comfortable mahogany neck with pearl dot inlays plays effortlessly and feels incredibly responsive.
Notable features include a tortoise-style pickguard, tortoise body binding, and classic black-and-white trim and rosette. Overall, it’s in excellent condition for a guitar of this age. There are minor nicks and dings, light wear on the back, and some typical playwear on the top. A small area of finish wear from sweat is visible on the side rim near the upper bout. The original nut and frets are intact, with plenty of life left in the frets. Importantly, no strap button has ever been installed.
The back and sides boast stunning straight-grain rosewood — some of the most beautiful we’ve seen on a Martin D-21. Sonically, it’s nothing short of extraordinary: rich, powerful projection with incredible tonal balance. A truly breathtaking vintage C.F. Martin flat top from the golden era of American guitar-making.
Includes the original hardshell case with all latches and the handle in perfect working condition.
