1966 Fender Coronado II – Candy Apple Red
We present an all original 1966 Fender Coronado II in its original Candy Apple Red finish with matching headstock. Made in Fullerton, California.
Condition
This exceptionally clean 1966 Coronado II in custom color is in excellent overall condition, showing only minimal wear, small nicks, and minor dings. The original Candy Apple Red finish has gracefully aged, fading to a slightly more orange hue over the years.
The guitar features a fully bound maple hollow body with bound f-holes and the distinctive checkerboard binding — an indicator of its first-year production. The straight maple neck is clean and true, topped with a beautifully bound rosewood fingerboard featuring block inlays. The matching Candy Apple Red headstock is pristine, with the original decal fully intact. Please note: the small white emblem on the tailpiece is missing.
Originality
This stunning 1966 Coronado II is 100% original throughout — no modifications, repairs, or breaks. It remains just as it left the Fender factory in Fullerton back in 1966.
The two original DeArmond single-coil pickups are well-balanced and deliver a rich, articulate tone. All six original Fender tuners operate smoothly. The original pickguard and knobs are present and in excellent condition.
All electronics and wiring are untouched and fully intact, with no replaced components, no broken solder joints, and no re-wound pickups. Everything is factory correct.
Includes the original black Victoria hardshell case with yellow interior.
