We present a fantastic Gibson Custom Shop Angus Young SG Standard Aged and Signed from 2009.

This is number 9 of 50 and has been played and Signed by Angus Young himself! Its in excellent condition and the frets are like new. It comes with the original case and all case candy. The only thing that’s missing on the case is a small stud missing in the handle latch.

Few guitar players in any musical genre have been as closely associated with their guitar of choice as Angus Young has been to Gibson’s legendary SG Standard. For 36 years – and counting – Angus Young has religiously donned his trademark velvety school boy uniform, and one of his many Gibson SGs, and proceeded to rock the foundation of countless arenas and stadiums around the world as AC/DC’s venerable lead guitarist. Now you can play the same SG Standard personally designed for – and by – Angus Young.

Angus’ personal SGs are typically a bit darker than the average Cherry finish, and that’s exactly what he wanted for the new Inspired By Angus Young model. But you can pick from two stunning variations: Gibson Custom’s revolutionary V.O.S. finish, or an aged finish produced by Gibson Custom to look just like one of Angus’ personal SGs. You won’t be disappointed with either one, really. But the choice is yours. Both finishes are achieved by hand in processes that demand several coats and many hours. Unlike a lot of our competitors, who settle for a polyurethane finish, Gibson opts for a nitrocellulose finish that will encourage the natural vibration of the instrument for a purer tone. In addition, a nitro finish is very porous and actually gets thinner over time. That way your guitar’s wood can breathe and age beautifully.

A neck profile designed by Angus, not found anywhere else
Angus likes it (he designed it, duh!), and we think you will too. The neck is smaller and narrower than a standard SG, with the nut width measuring at approximately 1.5545″ (+/- .050″). The profile itself is elliptical in its overall contour, and asymmetrical from top to bottom. The result is one comfortable, fast-playing neck, and it’s exclusive to the Inspired By Angus Young SG Standard.

New hardware and pickguard adds style and tone
Powerful changes lie in the details, including a set of chrome Schaller M6 tuners, and a new, extra-heavy chrome stopbar tailpiece that adds resonance and sustain to all those blistering chords and solo notes. There’s also a new three-ply pickguard (black, white, black) for an extra touch of sophistication.

‘Lightning Bolt’ fingerboard inlays gives an authentic AC/DC look
The symbol of the lightning bolt has long served as the central element of AC/DC’s logo and much of the artwork for several of the band’s albums. Made from genuine mother of pearl, the lightning bolt inlays that grace the rosewood fingerboard are exclusive to the Angus Young model. There will be no doubt in anyone’s mind about whose guitar you’re playing.

Seymour Duncan pickups deliver that AC/DC sonic bang!
You want to sound like Angus? Seymour Duncan’s vintage Pearly Gates humbucker pickups let you get as close as sonically possible. The Seymour Duncan Web site says they are “sweet, but slightly rude, with great sustain and a bright top end that make harmonics jump out of the guitar.” That’s exactly what Angus’ tone does – jumps right out of the guitar and slaps you in the face!
