1962 Fender Vibrasonic Amp 6G13 – Brownface

We present an original 1962 Fender Vibrasonic Amp 6G13 brownface. Made in Fullerton, California.

This rare Vibrasonic boasts Fender’s unique “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit, and this complex design was Fender’s only true pitch shifting vibrato offered in an amp. Swampy, thick, and very Leslie-esque, it’s a three dimensional, full bodied tone unlike any other Fender vibrato. The perfect middle ground between the dynamic, saturated tones of the earlier Tweed era amps and the clarity and shimmering cleans of the later Blackface line.

This Fender Vibrasonic has a very warm and nuanced sound, with absolutely giant transformers that keep the low end thick and focused. The 6G13 circuit offers EQ controls that have a very wide sweep for everything from classic hollow twang to warm, sweet sounds that will delight any Jazz player. The 15″ JBL speaker, gives plenty of clean headroom on tap, but once you get above 5 on the volume dial the amp cascades into raucous, touch sensitive overdrive. Perfect for guitar, bass, or keyboards, this is a versatile amp that pairs well with just about anything from the era.

Overall, this Fender brownface is great original condition. All transformers are original as well to the amplifier. Replaced speaker, but to a period correct one that has been reconed. The circuit has been serviced and checked through an Amp – Tech with some new capacitors and resistors so it run perfectly. Stocked with NOS tubes. New 3-prong power cable installed.

Cosmetically, the original brown tolex is in excellent shape, with original feet glides and even the original plastic handle. Grill cloth has some wear and tear but no holes. The control plate is clean and the graphics are perfect intact.

To keep it as original as possible you need a stepdown transformer. We have these in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter. https://guitarhunter.dk/product/toroidy-ats300va-stepdown-converter-230-110v/
