We present an original 1965 C.F. Martin 0-18 in natural lacquer finish. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

This is a nicely original example overall, with some nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear. There is one fairly deep scrape through the top finish just in front of the pickguard and some scratches to the finish on the top and back. The only pick wear visible is on the lower lip of the sound hole. The features are type mahogany back and sides, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and tortoise celluloid outer binding.

Appointments more specific to 1965 include the first of the short-saddle bridges, last of the tortoise pattern celluloid pickguards (soon replaced with black acetate), and original openback Grover Sta-Tite tuners. These are lovely-sounding instruments; this one has plenty of volume and a bright but still even ringing tone. It has been played in a bit, but now, past its 50th birthday, is sounding better than ever. The rosewood bridge is original and has never been cut down. This guitar has recently had a very cleanly done neck set and refret and is likely playing better than it ever did. Overall a very nice-playing and sounding old Martin, with a lot of character to the tone. Overall Excellent – Condition.

Even comes complete with a Chipboard case.

Repair that has been done by a professional Luthier.

  • Neck reset so you have the perfect string action and the best playability you can get.
  • Few grain crack repairs on the top, one longer one on the upper bass bout.
