From laser-scanned dimensions to chemically-recreated plastics to color-matched shades of sunburst, every element has been rendered in unbelievable detail. It represents the culmination of decades of work by Custom Shop’s expert team. A tireless quest to bring accuracy and authenticity to the hands of fans.

It’s the definition of cool, and it’s the best representation of the 1959 Les Paul Standard since the Gibson Custom Shop began making Historic Reissues over twenty-five years ago. These were combined project between Tom Murphy, Edwin Wilson and Carl Hanson. Only 50 were made and the model is painted & aged by Tom Murphy. Ed hand-picked the wood for every single guitar. The guitar is crafted of a single lightweight mahogany.

Each guitar commemorates 20 years of Gibson Custom’s Historic Reissue program with a very special collateral package which includes a framed, handmade, one of a kind Certificate of Authenticity, a pair of white gloves (for handling), a custom fitted dust cover with the 1993 Custom Shop logo and a special, engraved “20th Anniversary” medallion affixed over the pickup switch access panel on the back. Original switch plate cover included. Hard Shell Custom Shop Case included. The guitar is like new !
