We present an original 1955 C.F. Martin 000-28 in very nice condition. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

This is an extremely original and flat top guitar. All original parts including bridge, tuners, frets, nut, pickguard, and finish. Top is un-cracked except for a little hint of E-string pickguard which is very common and totally normal on old Martin guitars.

The gorgeous rosewood back and sides are wonderful examples of quarter-sawn rosewood wood. These are un-cracked. Mahogany neck has no problems, no break at headstock or heel, and has never had a strap button installed. The neck has never needed a neck reset, and does not need it now.

It features rosewood peghead overlay with Gabon ebony fingerboard. Graduated dot inlays in fingerboard. Gabon ebony belly bridge with cut-thru saddle. Boxwood bridge pins. Moderate one-player wear seen above pickguard and to the side of pickguard and bridge with a few random dings from handling on the top. Usual wear on the inside of soundhole rossette at pickguard has a coat of hand-applied sealer to stop further degradation. The sides of the guitar are in very high condition. The back is very nice, and only shows light button marks, and some light scratches.

Inside the guitar is an area of generous glue where a brace was reglued sometime long ago. The top is bound with 6-ply Ivoroid binding. Back has 3-ply Ivoroid binding. Ivoroid heelcap. Ivoroid multiple end wedge. Marquetry backstrip.

This is an amazing nice guitar and a super rare piece of history as well as a top collector piece and notch player!
Sound-wise it has great balance, big bottom end and big treble and great feel. It is very rare to see a 63 year old guitar with no back or top cracks and with original frets and nut.

There has been added a very expensive Sunrise acoustic pickup in the sound hole. The original strap button is included in the case. You can easily take the pickup out without damage anything.

Comes with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
