The history of Fender Custom Shop

For over 30 years, the Fender Custom Shop has handcrafted some of the finest and most spectacular guitars. Formed by the co-founding duo of Design Engineers Michael Stevens and John Page, the project started in a garage but quickly became prevalent and highly influential for both pastime players and world-renowned superstars.

Though the 1950s and 1960s are many days behind us, Fender’s classic evergreen guitars are still deeply appreciated worldwide. However, there were only so many guitars built back in the day, and to keep the golden years of guitar designs present in today’s market and accessible to guitar enthusiasts everywhere, the Fender Custom Shop have recreated many of Fender’s iconic designs while also reinventing the classics with modern guitar engineering.

Fender Stratocaster

Throughout history, the Fender Stratocaster is perhaps Fender’s most cherished guitar model. As a result, there are of course many various versions of the Stratocaster, both modern versions and vintage Custom Shop recreations, and when it comes to Stratocasters, there are lots to choose from.

Fender Telecaster

The Fender Telecaster was the world’s first mass-produced electric guitar, and unless you’ve been living under a rock since forever, if you know anything about guitars, you also know about the Tele. Along with the Fender Esquire, the Telecaster formed the future of solidbody electric guitars and was of course a huge commercial success and has continued to be ever since.

Fender Jazzmaster

On the drawing board, the Fender Jazzmaster was intended to tempt jazz guitarists with a solidbody electric guitar that merged convenience and quality. While the jazz crowd stayed indifferent, the Jazzmaster gained widespread acceptance from the 1960s and onward.
