1952 Gibson ES-5N – Natural
We present an all original 1952 Gibson ES-5 Gibson in Natural finish made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Overall, this 1952 Gibson is a super clean example with minor nicks, dings and other typical play wear. The Gibson ES-5 is a full hollow electric and the most deluxe laminated wood model Gibson offered at that time. It features black covered P-90 pickups, three volume controls (one for each pickup) and one master tone knob. The controls are topped with 5/8″ high barrel knobs. All hardware is gold-plated. Beautiful flamed maple neck with rosewood fingerboard with pearl blocks and rosewood bridge.
The laminated maple body has a beautiful flamed grain on top and back. The pickguard is five-ply laminated plastic with a beveled edge; the trapeze tailpiece has pointed ends and three raised parallelograms.
The headstock is single-bound with a mother-of-pearl crown and Gibson logo inlaid in the peghead overlay. The back of the peghead is painted black, also called black stinger. The Kluson Sealfast tuners have plastic “tulip” single ring buttons. There is added a gold strap button on the heel so you can stand up and play.
This 1952 ES-5 is a fantastic playing Archtop hollowbody guitar. Just a perfect example from Gibson’s golden age.
Comes complete with its original pink-lined brown hardshell case. 3 latches are not working, but the case is functional.
The pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
