1966 Gibson Dove – Natural
We present an original 1966 Gibson Dove in Natural finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This exceptional flat-top Gibson acoustic guitar is coming directly from the original owners daughter. Pam’s father purchased this wonderful flat-top back in the 60’s. Unfortunately she didn’t had the skills to play it but kept it for many years. We a grateful here at Guitar Hunter to be the next owner.
The 1966 Gibson Dove is higher-end accompaniment to the iconic Hummingbird model. It features a full-sized, square-shouldered dreadnaught body, Spruce top with maple back and sides. Rosewood fretboard with split parallelogram inlays, tune-o-matic bridge and the signature mother-of-pearl dove-inlayed pickguard.
This Gibson is all original expect for one adjust screw. No cracks or breaks in this Gibson flat-top guitar. There is installed a DeArmond pickup. We will keep it as is and let the new owner take the decision to remove it or not. Overall, this Gibson Dove is in excellent condition with light signs of use for its age, including light play wear and fine finish checking on the original finish. The original frets have plenty of lift left. To keep it as original as possible there is added a shim under the original nut so it has the perfect action and playability.
Even comes complete with its original Gibson black hardshell case with yellow interior. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
