1966 Gibson EB-2D – Sunburst – 1-3/4″ Nut Width
We present an all original 1966 Gibson EB-2D in Sunburst finish and custom-ordered 1-3/4″ nut width. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This Gibson semi-hollow body bass is truly special and super rare as this bass was custom-ordered with a wide 1 – 3/4″ nut width. It’s in overall excellent condition with minor nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear. No breaks or any repairs.
This is the desirable dual pickup version of the EB-2 Bass, which is what The “D” in name stands for. This model was introduced in ’66 therefore this is a first-year production. The EB Humbucker pickup in the neck position and a mini-Humbucker in the bridge position. All the solder-joints are completely untouched. This EB-2D Bass notable also features the original ‘Baritone’ switch as well as the 3-way pickup selector. The four original Gold Reflector Knobs looks clean.
Laminated Maple top, back and sides with 1-piece mahogany neck with dark rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. The original frets are in perfect shape with a lot of life left. Comes with chrome hardware and Stud/bridge compensated tailpiece. Just a stunning bass with great playability.
Even comes complete with its original case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
