    Dale Wilson came to Fender in 2003, joined the Custom Shop in 2005 and became a Master Builder in 2011.

    "I've always loved guitars since I can remember" claims the Master Builder.

    He has a great talent for creating incredible instruments like the Resophonic Thinline Telecaster®. Wilson also built five beautiful custom guitars for the January 2011 NAMM Show.

    Paul Waller is a Southern California native, luthier by blood. He built his first guitar at age 14, then graduated from the prestigious Roberto-Venn School of Violin Making in Phoenix. Waller joined Fender in 2003.

    He became a Master Builder in 2011.

    His work in the Fender Custom Shop includes a bass for Adam Clayton of U2, a Thinline Telecaster for U2 singer Bono, some Telecasters for Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, co-work on a Strat for Ronnie Wood, and a double neck Jazzmaster for guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens Of the Stone Age.

    He joined the Fender Custom Shop in 1995 and completed a five-year apprenticeship under Senior Master Builder John English in 2006.

    Among many different projects co-curated with him, Smith worked on a pair of double-neck Strats for Stone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean De Leo. Since then he has made fine instruments for notable players including John 5, Michael Landau, Flea, Josh Klinghoffer, Steve Harris, Reggie Hamilton, Linkin Park, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Neon Trees and many more.

    When he arrived in the United States in 1990, Shishkov settled in the Chicago area and collaborated with a number of prominent artists, including Dimebag Darrel, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Nuno Bettencourt and Paul Stanley of Kiss.

    Shishkov joined the Fender Custom Shop Master Builder team in 2000 and continues to create truly magnificent instruments featuring beautiful detailing and inlays.

    Todd Krause has built exquisitely crafted custom instruments for many of the world's greatest artists, including Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, David Gilmour, Robbie Robertson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robin Trower, Roger Waters and many more.

    He came to Fender in 1991 and has grown steadily going through different roles, as a pattern maker through research and development to then focus on making the instruments. He became a Custom Shop Master Builder in 1997 and has created countless instruments, all of which embody his personal design philosophy: "Form and function matter most."

    Combining his dual passion for music and woodworking, he started building high-end acoustic guitars very early on. Since becoming a Master Builder he has been building instruments for top musicians including Paul McCartney, Andy Summers, Johnny Marr, Patrick Stump, Mike Dirnt, Sting and many more. He has created double-neck guitars and offbeat versions of classic Fender designs with various artists.

    Greg Fessler came to the Fender Custom Shop in 1990, starting out as an apprentice.

    He worked on the Robben Ford line of guitars, eventually becoming sole builder of those instruments and, later, Ford's personal builder. Fessler has built one-of-a-kind Stratocaster and Telecaster models for a myriad of players, including Joe Bonnamasa, Jeff Healey, Hank Marvin, John Mayer, Rhonda Smith, Neil Schon and Pete Wentz, to name a few.

    Thorn has built more than 800 custom instruments under the Thorn Guitars name. Thorn is among the first to assume the title of Principal Master Builder: one of the highest honors in the Fender Custom Shop and guitar building community.

    Kyle McMillin has over 15 years of guitar making experience, now serving the Fender Custom Shop. McMillin recently completed a five-year apprenticeship under the careful supervision of Yuriy Shishkov, has worked on nearly 1,000 guitars.

    Originally from the Netherlands, Vincent moved to California in 2005 and started working for Fender. In 2012 he started working at the Fender Custom Shop.

    He has worked on many prestigious guitars, including the Gary Moore '61 Stratocaster replica and more recently the Phil Lynott Precision Bass.

    Teambuilt

    Teambuilt instruments are made in the Fender Custom Shop in California by a team of highly specialized and selected luthiers. The whole team will work on creating the instrument especially for you.

    Masterbuilt

    Masterbuilt instruments are made by a single luthier - chosen from those available in the drop-down menu. The luthier of your choice will take care of the entire realization of the guitar of your dreams. These are the same luthiers who have made iconic instruments for internationally renowned artists, such as John Mayer or Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.
