1959 Fender Jazzmaster – Sunburst – Gold Anodized Pickguard

We present an all original and 100% complete 1959 Fender Jazzmaster in its original Sunburst finish with Gold Anodized pickguard. Made in Fullerton, California.

History

This pre-CBS Fender Jazzmaster came from the son of the original owner. After the owner passed, the guitar was placed in storage for many years, since the son didn’t play guitar and eventually sold it to us. It even comes with an old photo of the original owner playing this wonderful Jazzmaster.

Condition

This is an exceptional and pristine example of a 1959 Jazzmaster that is overall in excellent and clean condition. It shows some minor  “buckle rash” on the back of the body, a few nicks, dings and scratches on the front and sides of the guitar and a few spots of notable wear. The maple neck is clean without wear and features a beautiful slab rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. The original 3-tone Sunburst finish is in incredible condition with barely any fading – absolutely top-class.

Originality

This guitar is 100% all original with no modifications, breaks or any repairs, just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1959. It comes complete with its original bridge cover, tremolo arm, cable and instruction manual, not to forget the original Tweed Fender case. The two original black button pickups sounds powerful and balanced. This guitar is everything you would expect from a guitar produced in the Fender’s golden age periode! The original gold anodized pickguard is in exceptional clean condition with minimal signs of wear. The original amber switch tip is fully intact as well. Notable, this January ’59 Jazzmaster features the original hexagonal “Hex” nut on the lead toggle-switch – Fender switched the toggle-switch nut from round to Hexagonal in late 1958. The two white knobs is completely original, interestingly enough they have two different shades of white, which is very common.

Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes complete with the original Fender tweed hardshell. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
