1961 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst
We present an all original 1961 Fender Stratocaster. Made in Fullerton, California.
This Fender guitar is purchased directly from the original owner. Overall, this piece is simply a one of a kind 1961 Stratocaster, one of the best we ever had. It’s not every day we get a 1961 pre-CBS Stratocaster directly from the original owner.
A stunning piece even comes complete with photo documentation of the original owner. All case candy, hang tags and so on. She hasn’t played this beauty since 1969/70. She purchased it in a local music store back in 1962 and the original receipt has been kept together with the guitar since. We’ll likely never see a piece like this again. Also it has the original packing paper that was inside the guitar case when the Fullerton factory shipped the guitar out to the Music Store dealer. Yes, this piece is truly a holy grail.
It has been in the original case for a long time. That also make sense when we look at the condition. No fading on the beautiful Sunburst finish. The frets are like new and overall there are very few nicks and dings and other cosmetic wear. The spaghetti logo is strong in the color (like new) The Black Bobbins Pickups are strong with a well balanced output. Beautiful “slapboard – sound” and all the desirable pre-CBS features. It has a beefy tone and sounds so amazing with a lot of twang.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Fender brown hardshell case w/yellow plush lining. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
