1961 Gibson ES-330 TD – Sunburst
We present an original 1961 Gibson ES-330 TD in Sunburst finish. Made in kalamazoo, Michigan.
Aside from a professional refret, newer bone nut, three replaced saddle screws (The originals are in the case) this guitar is all original and boasts all of the features of this model’s first iteration. The hardware shows great patina on the ABR-1 bridge, and lighter patina on the nickel tailpiece and tuning gear housings. A previous owner has written their name next to the “ES-330TD” factory stamp.
This early model comes with “Mickey Mouse Ear” notably rounded double cutaways on the body, black pickup covers, dot inlay on the rosewood fretboard, nickel hardware, Bumblebee Tone Caps. The Es-330TD is so acoustically resonant, the fullness of the unplugged tone translates very well through the pickups, which deliver a very dynamic and nuanced tone, with the heft and midrange fullness that only comes with the combination of a fully hollow-body and a good pair of P-90 pickups.
The mahogany neck has a slim C-shaped. The rosewood fretboard with dot inlays. The original Kluson Deluxe single line tuners are intact, and these tuners turn smoothly with their original white buttons. The serial number is very clean on the back of the headstock and the “Gibson” logo is in pearl inlay on the headstock face.
Comes with its original hardshell case with brown exterior and plush pink interior. The original latches and handle are also intact.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
