We present an all original 1965 Gibson SG Special in its original Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This Special it’s an early 65 with 64 appointment such as nickel hardware and nut width 1-11/16. Overall, it’s in beautiful shape with extremely minor nicks, dings and other cosmetic play wear.
This Gibson features bound rosewood fretboard, 2 x “3 on a stripe” Kluson tuners and Vibrola tremolo. There is so much resonance in this 1-piece / lightweight mahogany body. It’s incredibly lively and clear acoustically. The original Cherry finish is still strong. The Gibson P-90’s pickups sound amazing and are well balanced. They are absolutely roar and can deliver everything from glassy, articulate cleans to growling heavy overdrive with ease. The 1-piece neck is a joy to play. Even comes complete with the hang tag and its original sales receipt from 1965.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Alligator chip board case. The original latches and handle are also perfect and intact.
- Neck pickup: 7.62 kOhm.
