1900 C.F. Martin 0-21
We present an original 1900 C.F. Martin o-21. Made in Nazareth, PA.
This flat-top Martin 0-21 has beautiful rosewood back and sides, adirondack red spruce top, and a Cypress neck. This “single 0” size guitar is generally thought of as the “start” of true parlor guitar sizes. So much resonant and volume in this little body. The slotted peghead has rosewood overlay with newer brass tuners. The serial number is stamped on the top of the peghead, and it is also stamped on the head block of the guitar. On the back of the peghead at the top “C.F. Martin & Co. Nazareth, PA” is stamped.
The C.f. Martin 1800’s style diamond volute can be found on the back of the peghead. The neck profile starts as really crisp . It features ebony fingerboard with original bar frets and small diamond cut inlays. The bridge pins are black with dots, and there is the original ebony endpin. There is an extra hole drilled above the endpin where someone previously put in a screw-in endpin.
Overall, this 122 year old flat-top is in wonderful condition for its age. Nicks, dings and other cosmetic play wear can be found. The red spruce top has a crazy wide grain out towards the binding. The soundhole comes with herring bone center piece, and then a 5-ply binding of concentric circle inside of the herring bone. At the butt of the guitar there is an endwedge of ebony that is bordered with maple. An exceptional acoustic guitar that sounds amazing.
Comes with the original semi-hard case.
