1950 Fender Deluxe Amp Tweed 5A3 – Tv Panel
We present an original 1950 Fender Deluxe Tweed 5A3 model. This amplifier is made in Fullerton, California.
This very early TV-front Deluxe remains in far better condition than most, both externally and under the hood. The old-style tweed covering is very crisp and not “smoked” like most and shows only some light wear, mostly on the corners. There is some very minor corrosion to the faceplate, mostly near the fuse holder. The leather handle is a good quality repro. Internally the amp has a mix of period tubes and a well-done capacitors job with no major mods, just a 3-prong cord added so the amplifier can run perfectly. The transformers are original as well.
This 1950 Deluxe amplifier was originally wired by Lupe (whose masking tape name tag is still present inside the chassis. The original Jensen speaker is in great shape. The amp sounds great and runs very quietly with new filter caps. This is a lovely example of this all-time classic gigging and recording amp, one the nicer we have seen. Overall, this amplifier is in excellent condition.
The chassis is clean and so is the chrome control plate and the original white lettering is in great shape, along with the stock knobs.
To keep it as original as possible you need a stepdown transformer. We have these in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter: Toroidy Step-Down Transformer 230V/110V – 200VA
