We present an original and rare 1964 Fender Vibroverb amplifier blackface. Made in Fullerton, California.

This Fender Vibroverb blackface is a great example of Fender’s rarest and most desirable blackface amp. The Fender Vibroverb was only made in the Pre-CBS Fender era, lasting from late 1963 through ’64. Best known for its association with Stevie Ray Vaughan. The amplifier delivers 40 all-tube watts with a dual channel design and tube rectifier. The tone is clear and powerful, with dynamic Fender cleans that sparkle and twang.

The original JBL speaker keeps the signal and tight, with very little speaker cone distortion even at high volumes, letting the light compression and velvety tube overdrive of the circuit be heard with stunning clarity when you push the amp near 10 on the volume dial. The Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension with a long decay, and the Vibrato (technically tremolo) has a strong, smooth pulse.

The circuit is in great shape, with the original Schumacher-made transformers. One of the transformeres is an era correct 1965 Fender transformer ( A bigger one like Super Reverb ). That was the same mod and replace transformer Stevie Ray Vaughan amp-tech did. All of the original CTS pots are intact. The preamp retains its full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Blackface circuits. Only few filter capacitors  and resistors are replaced so it can run perfectly. A newer three-prong power cable has also been installed.

Cosmetically, this amp retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. In some point there is drilled extra screw holes in the grillcloth. Overall nice light edge wear and a few small spots of missing tolex, few small holes. The original hardware is all intact, with some scuffing on the original nickel corners, and modest patina on the original Pat. Pending tilt-back legs, sphinx glides, and handle caps. All channels works and sounds incredible.

To keep it as original as possible you need a stepdown transformer. We have these in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter. https://guitarhunter.dk/product/toroidy-ats300va-stepdown-converter-230-110v/

The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included.
