We present an all original and early 1966 Fender Precision bass in its original Lake Placid Blue finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
Overall, this Fender bass is in super clean condition with only few spots of nicks, finish checking, dings on the back and other cosmetic wear. It’s an early 1966 because it has all the 1965 specs. The only reason we call it a 1966, is because the date on the original factory pickup is January 14th 1966.
So this bass left the Fullerton factory in 1966. The neck is in fantastic shape and the fingerboard has a beautiful dark veneer rosewood with pearl dots. The original frets and nut are in perfect shape with a lot of life left. Comes complete with its original matching number hang tag, bridge cover and pickup cover.
This custom color has become super rare and it is one of the most sought after custom color for players and collectors. The playability is so excellent example and it’s extremely resonant. This Precision lives up to its “holy grail” bass status, with solid intonation and a feel that you want on a bass. Outstanding tone and huge dark sounding response.
Pickup and the electronics wiring remains untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickup. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
